About the Journal

JPM is a periodical and open access publication, peer reviewed journal, edited by the Portuguese Association of Midwives and aims to disseminate scientific knowledge produced in the specific field of sexual and reproductive health. All articles must be scientifically relevant, original and of interest to scientific progress, health promotion, health education , the effectiveness of health care and decision-making in the ​​sexual and reproductive health field.

The journal does not charge any fees or article processing charges for publishing an article.

Types of Publications accepted:

1. Observational Studies.

2. Experimental Studies.

3. Literature reviews. Synthetic literature articles that contribute to the generalization of knowledge.

4. Case studies. Case studies considered relevant.

5. Theoretical essays. Essays, deep reflections on specific topics, syntheses of multiple approaches, where a strong literary component is added to scientific, philosophical or other arguments.

6. Letters to the editor. In this section, two formats can be considered: 1) analysis of an edition or theme, and the editor suggests someone of reference to comment on the publications; 2) another format consists of the possibility of commenting or contesting results of a certain article from a previous publication.

The journal receives contributions in Portuguese, English or Spanish. It is aimed at students, researchers and professionals of life sciences, health sciences and education area, with an interest in phenomena related to sexual and reproductive health.

 

Copyrigth and Licensing

All the contents of the journal are property of APEO, and the copyright is reserved to it.  To the authors is reserved the right to make their articles available in repositories of their institutions of origin, since properly referenced.

Regarding the use by third parties, PJM is governed by the terms of the Creative Commons "Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works (cc-by-nc-nd)" license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/deed.pt 

It is the author's responsibility to obtain permission to reproduce content from other publications.

Any and all previously published copyrighted material (illustrations, figures, tables, among others) must be accompanied by written permission for reproduction from the copyright holders. Any conflicts related to copyright are the sole responsibility of the authors, never being PJM responsible for judicial or extra-judicial indemnification processes in the legal framework in force.

Authors must guarantee that the work is unpublished and is being sent exclusively to Revista da Associação Portuguesa dos Enfermeiros Obstetras. The authors agree that, in case of acceptance of the article, the copyright referring to it will become exclusive property of this journal. This acceptance should be done upon submission of the article.
