“O que promove a escolha das mulheres pelos long-acting reversible contraceptives: uma scoping review”

Issues: Women spend most of their fertile lives avoiding pregnancy. In some countries, 65% of women have an unwanted pregnancy that results from failure, misuse or discontinued use of contraceptives. Health professionals are responsible for contraceptive counseling, which is essential in guiding women. Objectives: To know the factors that promote women's choices for Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives. Methods: Scoping Review, carried out between 10 and 12 November 2021, according to the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute, and research question: What are the factors that promote women's choices for Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives? Results: Six studies, published between 2017 and 2019, are eligible. Conclusion: Contraceptive counseling programs that include counseling by a health professional, financial support for Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives costs, can reduce the percentage of unwanted pregnancies. Interventions focused on women should be developed.
